Vincent is a member of the Australasian Province of the Order of St Augustine, and in the ceremony was formally presented by Fr Dave Austin (Prior Provincial) to Most Rev. Peter Comensoli (Bishop of Broken Bay), who was the ordaining prelate. A local Vietnamese choir participated.
The liturgical rite of ordination to the priesthood took place two weeks short of the eight anniversary of Vincent’s joining the Augustinians in Sydney on 30 December 2008. Then after some study of English he undertook the required courses in philosophy and theology at the Catholic Institute of Sydney (CIS) at Strathfield. The ceremony was very well attended, and the congregation included three of Vincent’s immediate family, numerous Vietnamese and other priests, Manly Vale parishioners, members of the Sydney Vietnamese Catholic community, members of the Augustinian Formation Association (AFA), a large group of parishioners from St Clair in western Sydney (where Vincent has been serving as a deacon). Those present happily accepted the invitation to the Parish Centre after the Mass of Ordination, where Vincent received speeches of congratulation, and then responded in gratefulness.

Early in 2015 Vincent took his final vows as a member of the Augustinian Order in the same Manly Vale church, and in June 2016 at Holy Spirit Church at St Clair in western Sydney he was ordained a deacon by Most Rev. Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, the new bishop of the Parramatta Diocese. Vincent ministered as a deacon in Holy Spirit Parish from June 2016 onwards, and will now continue there as a newly-ordained priest.
